JOB SPECIFICS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist customers with complaints, recommendations, suggestions, information and directions, in person and on the telephone.
- Be courteous and helpful to customers and co-workers.
- Have a good understanding of what products Rainbow carries and where they are in the store. Inform customers where products are located.
- Lift objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Be able to work on one’s feet for long periods – up to 7 hours, with prescribed breaks.
- Be able to push a total of 8 shopping carts at one time from the garage and parking lots into the store.
- Deal effectively with busy and stressful situations.
- Be punctual and reliable with permanent and substitute shifts.
- Be able to speak and write English proficiently.
- Maintain communication with the FEC (Front End Coordinator), cashiers, security guards, and other co-workers on duty.
- Be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
- Have good problem-solving skills.
- Have basic math skills.
- Attend all Customer Service Department meetings.
- Read Customer Service Department meeting minutes.
- Be available to sub shifts in the Department.
- Be actively involved in the Department.
- Assist special needs customers by helping to bag groceries and load bags into their vehicle.
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, cleaning up spills and breakages in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of the employee and public bathrooms.
- Abide by the policies of the store including item returns, store policies and department policies.

WAGES AND BENEFITS:
Starting pay $22.30/hr. Full medical/dental/vision insurance for full-time workers (27 or more hours/week), 401(k) retirement plan, seven paid holidays, pay for time off (vacation, sick and personal days), potential for profit sharing (“patronage”) upon becoming a member-owner of cooperative (vast majority of workers have become members in first year).
